Does your partnership reflect the way you lead your business?
I wasn’t a bad leader because of my partnership. I was a disconnected one — disconnected from my true self, my energy, and my potential.
There was a moment I’ll never forget.
I was overwhelmed. Exhausted. Mentally checked out. I’d been carrying too much for too long, and the pressure was mounting — projects, problems, expectations. When an employee challenged something, I didn’t have the energy to listen, reflect, or collaborate.
So I did what many burned-out leaders do: I reached for control.
“I’m the boss. That’s how it’s going to be. No more discussion.”
That sentence came out of my mouth like a weapon.
I felt the impact in my body immediately. It hurt—not just because I may have hurt the other person but because I betrayed myself.
I didn’t lead from the truth. I led from depletion.
I didn’t know how to repair it in that moment — I was deep in my red zone. I just needed to survive, to finish what had to be done. And I know I’m not the only one who’s been there.
When I’m disconnected, I become:
✦ Pushy ✦ Impatient ✦ Loud ✦ Defensive ✦ Nervous ✦ Harsh
Maybe you’ve experienced me like this. If you have, and you’re willing to share — I’d receive it with humility and gratitude. It helps me grow.
Because here’s what I’ve learned:
👉 Disconnection kills leadership.
👉 Disconnection kills business.
👉 And most importantly, it kills our own sense of self.
This post isn’t about shame. It’s about awareness. It’s about owning our patterns so we can shift them. Because when we lead from connection — to ourselves, to our vision, to our people — everything changes.
This is why I do what I do. This is what Magic Leadership is made of. It reconnects you with your true potential.
Here’s a perspective we don’t talk about enough — the energetic link between our relationships and the businesses we build.
In a world where emotional turbulence is normalised and disconnection becomes a coping mechanism, many of us unintentionally lose touch with our bodies… and with ourselves.
And when that happens, it ripples out.
Into our partnerships. Into our leadership.
Into the very energy that infuses our business.
Because at the core - business is human. It should be human.
We are the ones breathing life into systems, decisions, strategies, and cultures.
And if we are disconnected, how can we expect long-term success, co-creation, or sustainable growth?
Two disconnected people can’t create a deeply aligned partnership.
And yet, so many businesses are built on that very dynamic.
We desire resonance.
We crave safety, support, creativity, trust, and expansion.
But first — we have to come home to ourselves.
So let’s ask a more powerful question:
Who is the person infusing the business with energy, vision, and potential?
I know who’s infusing mine. I am.
I own it. I nurture it. I check in with it daily.
And that’s what I call Magic Leadership.
Lots of Magic.
P.S. Partnership is only one of the mirrors we can look into.
